When and how was created the band?
I'm 2011 we came together as three friends who wanted to write the best heavy metal EP possible. It was never our intention to be a full time band until we discovered the great sound we were making.
Why did you choose to play Heavy Metal and not any other subgenre?
It is in our opinion the best subgenre of metal. The most power, speed, and melody all rolled into one. It is what we grew up listening to and felt very natural for us.
Why are you just three members? Has this been a problem when you perform live?
It was simply out of necessity. There wasn't anyone else that we wanted in the band so there was just the three of us. No problems live at all. We sound very powerful for three guys and much bigger than most other three piece bands. We also do a lot of harmonies between guitar and bass, thus eliminating the need for a second guitar.
Where did you record the Night Demon video? Is it true that is a home video?
We recorded it in our small practice space. We did everything on an Iphone and filmed and edited it just the three of us. It was a lot of fun and a total D.I.Y. Effort.
Many of us got to know Night Demon thanks to that video and for three years we didn´t know anything from you. Why did you take that long to release you debut album?
We were getting many touring opportunities just from the EP, so we treated it as an official release and wanted to travel the world in support of that before releasing another album.
When did you compose the songs from Curse of the Damned? Are those from the demo days or were composed later?
We wrote most of it in 2013. Did many demos that year as well. We were waiting for the right labels to step up and release the album. That's why it took so long, but they are here now and we are ready to roll!
How did you get in touch with Century Media? Did you want to release the album through a label from the beginning?
They approached us after seeing us on some festivals and some shows in LA. Yes it was always our intention to get a label to release it. We do everything else ourselves, so we needed someone else to distribute it so we can focus on staying on the road.
What is the sound that you are looking for in Night Demon? Your sound is very direct as if you were not interested in reinvent the wheel (you know what I mean?)
I have used that term many times! Our goal is to write and perform some of the best heavy metal inspired by great bands that we love. We are not a throwback or nostalgia act, we simply play what we love. That just happens to have a very classic sound.
I've read some comments on internet from people who listens to your music and says that you're trying (like many other bands) to bring back the eighties. Do you agree with that kind of comments?
I agree I'm a way, but obviously you can look at our image and know that it isn't true. We are not trying to bring back the eighties. That has already happened. We are simply trying to bring back pure rock!
Tell me about your recent tour with Skull Fist and Elm Street. How has been like? What do you think about those bands?
It's been a lot of fun. I like those bands and especially like them as friends. It has also been nice to see our fan base grow and see many people come see us again on the road.
Are planning more tours during this years or what are your plans?
Yes, two days after the Skull Fist tour, we travel to Europe for a ten week tour, then spend the summer touring in the states. Trying to make a trip to Mexico in late September.
You have finally released her debut album. Go back to the early days even before you had a demo and tell me: how do you see the road? In retrospective which were the main challenges that you had to face to make it to this point?
I think the main challenges have really been to just stay consistent. We have up our jobs and homes to dedicate our lives to this band and live our dreams. Once you completely dedicate yourself to it, things seem to fall in place. We work very hard! It's all worth it in the end.
Do you have any final comment for all the readers?
Follow your dreams whatever they may be! If you're passionate and you never give up, you will never fail!
Thank you very much for your time and congratulations for your album!
